SatLabs to attend Latin American Workshop

The main purpose of the one-day workshop is to highlight the benefits of the DVB family of standards, including the large body of players supporting it and their present and future strategies associated with DVB and DVB-RCS. Five speakers representing operators, manufacturers and standardisation bodies will offer different perspectives on DVB-RCS.

A variety of key topics emphasising the usefulness of open standards will be addressed during the workshop, from benefits to interoperability and affordability, as well as what DVB-RCS can mean for Latin America and much more.

Xavier Lobao, Chairman of the SatLabs Group and guest speaker at the conference, believes: "Latin America is an important market and a clear opportunity for the development of open standards."

Held annually in Florianopolis Brazil, Futurecom 2004 is the sixth such event and focuses on the Latin American satellite market attracting high-level representatives, industry insiders and experts from all over the world. It is an excellent venue to become familiar with the Latin American satcom market. ETSI sponsors the event through the @LIS Dialogue on Standardisation. This year's conference will be held from 26 to 28 October.

Attendance is free of charge for Futurecom participants, so to download a registration form just click under documentation on the right of this page. Space is limited and the deadline for registrations is 15 October.
