The European Space Agency together with Harwell Campus and Metalysis are delighted to invite you to the Global Space Economic Workshop@UK to be held on July 18th at the European Centre for Space Applications and Telecommunications (ECSAT) in Harwell Campus, United Kingdom.
The Workshop will bring together major space and non-space stakeholders from the energy, advanced material, biomedical and space domains, to discuss potential cooperative initiatives. This reflects the three clusters that have formed at Harwell in the domains of Space, HealthTec and EnergyTec.
Several high profile panels and splinter working sessions will be organised with the participation of leaders from industry, academia and European institutions, to discuss new cross-disciplinary partnerships and to promote disruptive innovation and commercial opportunities. Working sessions will address diverse challenges related to such topics as:
- advances in battery technology and how they can benefit both space exploration and the interworking of autonomous vehicles and renewable energy;
- advanced manufacturing and materials and in-situ resource utilisation, both for habitat construction on the moon or other planets and for use in the construction of satellites, spacecraft and down-to-earth applications and
- the perspectives brought forward by new biomedical research conducted in micro-gravity to protect or improve life both in space and on Earth.
Participants from institutional and commercial parties and the communities and actors in the domains of energy, materials, space and biomedical are invited to attend the event. For further information about the GSEW, please click here.
