A product using bandwidth and power efficiently to connect remote communities to the rest of the world has caught the attention of ESA and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
On 26 February, the Netherlands became the 14th Member State to support the ARTES 10 Iris Programme for Air Traffic Management.
The 19th Ka and Broadband Communications Conference, hosted by ESA and the Italian Space Agency, and the 31st AIAA International Communications Satellite Systems Conference will be held jointly in Florence, Italy from the 14 to 17 October.
An information event apprising actors and stakeholders of the latest progress in the Iris Programme will take place on 4 and 5 February 2013 in Salzburg, Austria.
An upgraded version of the ANTARES Technical specifications is now available for download. Produced by the Iris ANTARES project, this document defines a new satellite-based communication standard for air traffic management (ATM).
Iris, ESA´s programme for Air Traffic Management, will unveil a new interactive display demonstrating safety communications via satellite for aircraft pilots at the ATC Global Exhibition and Conference in Amsterdam. This new display was developed by the University of Salzburg.
With assistance from ESA´s Atlas extension of the ARTES 3-4 programme, a new generation of advanced functions designed by European industry will be deployed onboard the Eutelsat 8 West B satellite that will be operated by Eutelsat.
Phase B2 of the ESA Iris ANTARES project is now underway. This phase will advance ANTARES to the System Preliminary Design Review.
An information event apprising actors and stakeholders of the latest progress in the Iris Programme will take place on 4 and 5 February 2013 in Salzburg, Austria. Participation is open to all actors involved in Iris and interested stakeholders in satellite communications for Air Traffic Management.
Registration is now open for ESA's Integrated and Telecommunications Applications department's annual ARTES Applications Workshop. The event will take place 18 and 19 April in Rome, Italy.
